Assembly

I have to change how people view themselves in the world. I have to get people to believe they can in fact make a difference.... We view ourselves ... as people trained to develop people. Issues are only tools. Think about the guy who works in a factory. He's on the assembly line. He's a nobody. He doesn't do the kind of work that's ever gonna get him recognition. Take that same person and he's a key leader in the parish or in a union. Suddenly that same man, who from Monday to Saturday stands on the assembly line is a nobody, is somebody over here. People look to him. He makes a difference and he knows it. He counts.

Vishwakarma Puja 2011

This year also we celebrated Vishwakarma Puja with great enthusiasm and enjoyment. Program was short and simple; in fact this was our second Vishwakarma Puja since the plant become operational. We started at from Gurgaon at our usual time and reach Bawal by 9:30; we were surprise to see the wonderful arrangements done by Sudhir & team. Program started with Havan followed by Arti. After puja wonderful cultural activities were presented by my colleague and their kids. Harender’s 4 year old son was center of attraction. Program was concluded with prize distribution and delightful Chole & Puri.

Special thanks to Anurag for his excellent anchoring.

Some thing from life of Vishwakarma:-
There is also a story behind the construction of Golden Lanka. When Lord Shiva married Parvati, he asked Viswakarma to build a beautiful palace for them to reside. Vishwakarma put up a palace made of gold. For the housewarming ceremony, Shiva invited the wise Ravana to perform the "Grihapravesh" ritual. After the sacred ceremony when Shiva asked Ravana to ask anything in return as "Dakshina", Ravana, overwhelmed with the beauty and grandeur of the palace, asked Shiva for the golden palace itself. Shiva was obliged to accede to Ravana wish, and the Golden Lanka became Ravana's palace.

Baba Vishwakarma Ji Ki Jay!

Good night....

Pizza on Moon and Indian Beauty Sarpanch

Today I came across two interesting news in Economics Times. One about young, female, jeans-clad sarpanch of Soda village in Rajasthan and other about opening of Domino’s new pizza outlet.

Let’s talk about first one – I was really happy to see Chavvi Rajawat’s photo while driving tractor in her village. She at 30 has become India’s youngest sarpanch and the only one holding an MBA degree. She has been actively involved in lot of water harvesting program in her village which has now started showing results. In her attempt to build fresh water reservoir for her village she hit number of bureaucratic walls of inefficiency and she decided to raise the fund of own. I wish this young lady all the best. She represented India at recently held UN poverty summit. According to her most youth in the village are unemployed as they don’t have higher education due to absence of college, and this can be changed with e-education. After taking over as a surpanch, Chavvi launched a website, where she regularly post funds allocated for projects such as a village bank, community center for weddings and cataract surgery. Today we need such type of young people who are ready to take initiative and make all India proud of them.

Now other news from out of India rather than out of this Earth. Domino’s pizza has announced plans to launch its first Pizza restaurant on the Moon. Construction firm Maeda has come up with the plan to open dome-shaped concrete Domino’s restaurant on the surface of the Moon. The entire project is estimated to cost 13.4 billion pound. A big question on corporate social responsibility and heights of pizza publicity war…
