Kala Amb, Himachal Pradesh

Kala Amb is located in Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh, it is 15 Kms from Nahan, 56 Kms from Ambala (Haryana) and 69 km from Chandigarh. The district is bounded by Shimla district in the north, Uttaranchal Pradesh in the east, Yamuna Nagar district of Haryana in the south and Solan district in the North West.

I took Narayangarh bus from Yamunanagar and reached there in two & half hours. The Road from Yamunanagar till Bilaspur is in very bad condition. I recommend not to go by your own vehicle, it’s always better to go there by Bus and hire local taxi there. You can get Maruti 800 or Indica for 500 Rs for five hours. Industrial area of Kala Amb is famous for white good and paper industry. One can found lot of SSI (Small Scale Industries) engage in manufacturing fans and Electric Iron. Blue Star have very big manufacturing unit there.

The place is famous for its temple of renowned goddess Bala Sundri. The temple was built by Raja Dip Parkash then king of Nahan in 1573.

The Climate is Pleasant throughout the year. Some world famous tourist spots located close to Kala Amb is Renuka lake, named after sage Parshuram’s mother, Renuka.
